A hand-printed textile design depicts a train station with a locomotive and passenger cars. The scene is rendered in a graphic, linear style with touches of color. Sample of white glazed cotton, printed in black, red, blue, green and orange. Design by Steinberg called "Trains." Shows in black outline vistas of railway stations, with emphasis on the metal structure. Upper left, a very old fashioned engine and coach, in train shed. On the side of the coach the inscription: "Second class" and in another panel the arms of England appear. The windows of the coach and part of engine are touched with color in strong blotches. Lower right, another coach, with head of woman shown through one window. At left, tracks, and one passenger alone on platform. The whole design is in cartoon form. Given by Patt
