machine-printed from engraved rollers
Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum
Children's paper from the original roll of Kate Greenaway paper depicting the twelve months of the year. Groups of two or three figures (mostly children) are arranged at random. The name of the month represented appears beneath each group. Apple blossoms and leaves tied with pink ribbon surround the various motifs. Being intaglio printed with oil colors would allow this paper to be wiped clean. Printed in blue, green, pink, yellow-brown and lavender on cream ground. Gift of Mrs. Edwin F. Tarbox
