British artist Andy Goldsworthy is known for the site specific works that he creates outdoors in places all over the world. This preparatory drawing is the result of a proposal for an arched stone structure in Leeds, though the artist notes that it could exist there "and perhaps other places" as well. While Goldsworthy has made other semipermanent structures like this one of wood and stone, he also creates works that cannot last as long, using natural materials that he finds on location.
