The Chronological Disk comprises fourteen concentric circles representing: 1 Roman Empire, 2 Papacy, 3 Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantium and Sultanate), 4 Spain, 5 France, 6 Britain, 7 Denmark, 8 Sweden, 9 Poland, 10 Bohemia, 11 Hungary, 12 Russia, 13 Portugal, 14 Prussia. The disk is surmounted by the title on a banner held aloft by winged Baroque putti (one crowned, the other with a sceptre, and flanked at the foot by 58 lines of directions for its use.
