A carved wooden armchair with upholstered seat and back is shown against a dark background. The chair has ornate legs and armrests. Louis XV Armchair <DIV class="artifact-info__description wysiwyg"> <P>This armchair is a full expression of the Louis XV style in Canada. Every opportunity was taken to integrate gentle curves into the overall form and embellish all show wood with moulded edges, carved shells, flowers and vines. It is well proportioned and has a graceful symmetry that elevates it above most other similar examples. This armchair may be the product of the Quevillon school of carvers in the Montréal region.
