Jun ware Stoneware with pale blue glaze
A pale blue Jun ware stoneware bowl with a light brown rim and base. The surface is covered in fine crackles and has several small, dark circular indentations. Of all the major ceramic types produced in north China during late Northern Song (11th-early 12th centuries), Jun ware from Henan province is unique for its color suffused blue glazes. The depth and color of Jun glaze varies considerably. This bowl has a relatively thin pale blue glaze with a subtle crackle pattern. Gallery G204 Gift of Allan Rhoades
