Woodblock print, ink and color on paper
Hagiwara Hideo was fascinated by the texture of wood. In this large series of 26 prints—one for each letter of the English alphabet—he used pieces of driftwood as printing blocks, which he individually colored to make the grain in the wood more visible and stand out.
