Ceramics - Celadon
A celadon vase with a lid, decorated with incised floral motifs and geometric patterns. The vase has a bulbous body that tapers towards the base and a narrow neck. It is thought that a bojagi (wrapping cloth) that was large enough to cover the shoulders of the bottle was placed there before putting a lid over the mouth for decorative effect. This bottle is inlaid with a square bojagi pattern over the part around the neck, supposedly to create such an effect. Inlay decorations are made only in the bojagi pattern on the shoulder, with designs carved on the middle body and the bottom. Location: Celadon Accession number: Bongwan1981
