A traditional ink wash painting depicts a snowy landscape with figures traveling on a donkey. Trees and rocky terrain dominate the scene, with a small dwelling visible in the distance. This painting by Sim Sa-jeong was based on the famous anecdote about Meng Haoran (689-740), a poet of the Tang Dynasty who lived as a hermit on Mount Lumen. In this painting, Meng is riding a donkey and crossing Baqiao Bridge in China's Shenxi Province on a winter’s day. The turban shell-shaped hill, leafless trees, roundish mountains, and winding brush strokes are typical features of Sim’s style in his later years. Accession number: Bongw
