A vertical banner depicts three figures in profile, outlined in gold on a dark blue background. The figures are adorned with elaborate headdresses and flowing robes. This is a Buddhist banner of Bodhisattva from Dunhuang. The painting shows a dynamic and free style, and is thought to have been made during the 10th century. Similar Buddhist banners are exhibited in the Guimet Museum in France (Pelio Collection) and the British Museum (Stein Collection). Location: Central Asia Exhibition: Banner of Bodhisattvas Accession number: Bongwan4020
