Before coming to New York, this son of an émigré BessarabianJewish grocer lived in Chicago and studied at the School of the Art Institute there. During his early career, Aaron Bohrod was a resident of New York City (1926–30) while studying at the Art Students League, where he concentrated on subjects from his environment.
