A detailed wooden ship model of a captain's gig is displayed in a glass case with a wooden frame. The model is mounted on wooden columns. Ship model, captain's gig, clinker built, single banked, complete with 6 thwarts with pillars for support, rudder and tiller, brass rowlocks, mooring rope stern and bow, adjustable stretchers and bottom boards. Finished in varnished wood and mounted on turned wooden columns in a glass case. This model is a good example of Australian craftwork in ship model making. It is entirely likely that boats made by the Chidgey boatyard included clinker built single bank gigs similar to this model. Model made by Mr. Charles Chidgey
