London, arrived Australia 1887; d. 1949) was a prominent Sydney publisher and Australian arts promoter. Ure Smith co-founded and edited Art in Australia (estab. 1916) and The Home magazine (launched 1920-1942), which he then sold to John Fairfax and Sons Ltd in the mid-1930s. He stayed on as editor of both until he reluctantly retired in 1938.
