eiken- en olijfhout, belijmd met olijf- en cederhout
A wooden cabinet with intricate marquetry of floral and circular patterns is displayed on a stand with carved legs. This type of block-shaped cabinet on a stand became fashionable towards the end of the 17th century. While diverse items could be kept in them, they were mostly used for linen. Due to the absence of carved ornamentation, all attention is drawn to the decoration of the flat front and sides, which consists of thin discs of olive wood assembled into floral-like patterns.
