lihrografie in rood
This portrait is an illustration for an edition of the sensual love poems written by the 16th-century French author Pierre de Ronsard. The broad, wavy lines of the flowing hair suggest softness, while the jawline is sharply delineated. Thanks to Matisse, Bruna fully understood the importance of the line as a means of rendering emotions, material and situations. A fuzzy outline constitutes a leitmotif in Bruna’s oeuvre.
