A blue-toned image shows a fetal mouse skeleton with visible ribs, spine, skull, and limbs. A yellow-green mass is visible within the torso. Mouse foetus that has been stained with alcian blue to show the cartilage of the developing skeleton. Much of this cartilage will later be replaced by bone.
