Brauns reseradio Transistor fick tillsammans med andra Braun-apparater "Grand-Prix" vid XL Triennalen i Milano 1957. Priset är det förnämsta internationella utmärkelse som kunde ges för att belöna god industriell formgivning. Braun Transistor är ritad av designern Dieter Rams hos Max Braun Frankfurt/Main, Istället för radiorör har apparaten sju transistorer i varje batteri (som kostade 6 kr) och räckte för 800-1000 lyssningstimmar. Kom på svenska marknaden i maj 1957 eller 1958.
