A vintage wireless radio receiver with a wooden base and frame, featuring a large black coil and metal components. Radio, Wireless, crystal receive sliding coil type mounted on wood base 16 1/2" x 9 1/2". (SB)... Loose Coupler. (LC). Tuners of this type, known as loose couplers, came into use about 1908 and featured a primary winding with sliding contact, a moveable secondary winding with selector switch, a crystal detector and a pair of headphones.
